What a CR 17+ Hoard Contains
The generator's epic hoards read like geology: decades of layered coin and treasure with the oldest pieces pressed against the bedrock, platinum and gems in quantity, art objects fit for a throne room, and a very rare or legendary magic item. The example draw below included a Ring of Shooting Stars.
Expect totals in the tens of thousands of gold. The Loot by Level baseline for tier 4 is that very rare items circulate and a single legendary item makes a worthy campaign capstone; the gold at this tier is legacy money, spent on strongholds, fleets, and favors from thrones rather than on equipment.
