This loot generator presets the Dungeon Vault source, rolling a D&D 5e vault hoard such as iron shelves of bound coin purses and wrapped, wax-sealed objects. Reroll for a new vault or open the example below to see the exact draw.

What a Dungeon Vault Contains

The Dungeon Vault source builds a guarded, deliberate hoard: iron shelves of bound coin purses and wrapped, wax-sealed objects behind a door someone meant to keep shut. On the default CR 5-10 band that is coin in the hundreds of gold already counted and bagged, valuables packed for storage rather than display, and a solid chance at a magic item, since vaults exist to hold exactly that kind of thing.

Because the contents were sealed on purpose, every wrapped object is a small reveal. Open them one at a time at the table.

When to Use It

Use it for the strongroom at the bottom of a dungeon, a wizard's sealed cache, a city bank the party has been hired to breach, or a ruin whose builders locked away what mattered most. The vault implies a lock and a guardian: the trap generator supplies the first and the encounter generator the second.

If the party finds the vault early, the sealed purses are a reason to come back; reopen the same seeded hoard when they finally get the door open.

Example Results

Questions

What kind of items show up in a dungeon vault?
Carefully stored and sealed goods, themed for a guarded strongroom rather than a battlefield or shipwreck cache.
Does the dungeon vault always include a magic item?
No. Every roll draws independently against the same odds as the plain loot generator at the chosen CR band.
