About This Pantheon Generator
This free D&D 5e pantheon generator builds a whole pantheon in one click: eight gods by default (anywhere from one to twelve), each with a name and epithet, alignment, one or two cleric domains drawn from all 14 official domains, a portfolio, a holy symbol, a divine rank from demigod to greater deity, a sacred tenet, typical worshippers, and a favored weapon.
What makes it a pantheon rather than a list is the web between the gods. Every deity is tied to another as a parent, twin, consort, herald, jailer, rival, or oath-keeper, so the result arrives with its divine politics already written: the death goddess who is the ancient jailer of the god of birth, the twin goddesses of revelation estranged from each other. Every pantheon is seeded; one link recreates all of it.
Example Pantheons
Two real eight-god results, exactly as the generator produced them, condensed for length. Each link rebuilds the full pantheon from its seed.
- Besoru "The Gentle Dusk", chaotic evil greater deity of spellcraft and undead, is the estranged twin of Atavel "The Veiled Dawn", goddess of forbidden lore and restful sleep.
- Arigaenn "The Undying Warden", lawful good goddess of mourning, is the ancient jailer of Pond "The Merciful Whisper", the lawful evil god of birth.
- Ri "The Hidden Serpent", god of disguise and magic, is Arigaenn's consort; his tenet: "Question every law, but break none lightly."
- Braldi "The Shattered Star", goddess of revelation, is the estranged twin of Zesidall "The Pale Tide", god of dreams and sorcery, who keeps oaths sworn to Sana "The Crimson Crown".
- Sese "The Gentle Crown", goddess of birth, is Braldi's other estranged twin; both share the tenet "Break what deserves breaking."
- Ralarh "The Radiant Oath", lawful evil demigod of obedience: "Sleep is sacred; guard the dreams of the innocent."
Tips for Using a Generated Pantheon
- Read the relationships before the portfolios. A jailer, an estranged twin, or a broken oath is a campaign conflict the generator has already set up for you.
- Check the domain spread: a pantheon with two death gods and no nature god says something about the culture that worships it. Keep the gap as a setting detail, or reroll one deity with the Domain filter to fill it.
- Assign each major settlement a patron from the pantheon and use that god's tenet as the local temple's creed; the settlement generator can give each town its own.
- Hand clerics and paladins the list: the suggested domains map straight onto 5e cleric subclasses, so a player can pick a god and know which Divine Domain fits.
- Pin the pantheon to the Session Notebook, or copy the seed link, and the identical gods come back next session.

- Is this pantheon generator free?
- Yes. Every tool on Tools and Taverns is free, with no account, signup, or generation limit.
- How many gods should a D&D pantheon have?
- Between five and twelve for a major pantheon. Eight, the default here, covers the core needs (war, death, nature, knowledge, a trickster, a creator) with room for two or three gods that reflect the setting's themes. Small regional pantheons of three or four work well for a single culture.
- How is this different from the deity generator?
- Same engine, same gods. The deity generator defaults to five deities and suits rolling a single god or a small cult; this page defaults to eight so the relationships between the gods have room to form a full pantheon. Both accept any size from one to twelve.
- Can I generate a pantheon around one domain?
- Yes. Set the Domain filter to War, Death, Nature, or any of the 14 cleric domains, and every god in the pantheon carries that domain. A war pantheon of rivals is a classic result.
- Can I get the same pantheon back later?
- Every pantheon has a seed that is written into the page URL after generating. Copy the link (or use the Share button) and opening it rebuilds the identical gods, relationships and all.
- Can I use a generated pantheon in my published or streamed game?
- Yes. Generated results are yours to use in home games, streams, and published work; no attribution required.
